Props and costumes

When filming for our main task we will need various different props and costumes. we will use props such as fake blood, synthetic cuts, knives and broken glass, when using these props we will carry out a risk assessment to ensure that all the props we used are used safely and sensibly.
The fake blood will be used to put on the carpet of the living room and other places in the house to add to the horror conventions, the blood will also be on the actor of the girl in the film during the flashbacks to show she has been killed.
synthetic cuts will also be used to add to the fact that shes been killed, there will be clues scattered around the room to add to the enigma as to how she has been killed, so broken glass will be on the floor along with a knife with fake blood on it.
A phone will be used for the girl laying on the floor with it in her hand with the 999 call up on the phone when she is laying on the floor to link in with the 999 call that will be played throughout.

The costumes used will be a casual outfit for the girl with rips in her clothes to give the idea that shes been attacked also we will back comb her hair so that it looks messy. Fake blood will be on her belly with a rip in her top and a synthetic cut showing.

For the set design during the present time the house will be bright but look quite empty and abandoned, we will do this by using old furniture and ornaments to make the house look quite mysterious and scary. Fake blood and glass will be scattered around the rooms in the house during the flashbacks with the furniture moved around and changed a little so that you can tell the difference between the present time and the flashback. low key lighting will be used in the flashbacks and high key lighting will be used in the present time to create a negative effect in the flashbacks.
