Definitely, maybe analysis- Theo Benjamin

After 40 seconds we find out the main character, the location and his profession. Firstly we see him sitting at his desk with a suit on and skyscrapers in the background. Advertising boards in the back of his office shows us more about his job. His facial expressions show how he’s feeling about his current situation.

Close ups of the divorce papers shows what he is currently going through with his wife. All the workers around him are dressed formally and we can see he has his own office compared to all the other employees. Long shots are used by the cinematographer so we can see the size of the office. The location then goes from interior to exterior, we can see it’s around mid day due to the bright sunshine. He puts his headphones in and from now on we can see he’s more casual than when he was in the office. The yellow cabs in the background show that they’re in New York, this sets the location for the rest of the film. We also see iconic landmarks such as Grand Central Station.

Foley sound is used in the office for things such as the letter being dropped onto the desk and the man clicking his pen. Sound bridges are also used when we can hear the pen clicking from when the camera goes into the next room. There is then internal narration which are his thoughts, from this we find out that he’s not happy with his relationship and that they’re breaking up, the second part of the narration tells the audience that he doesn't like his job but that he does like Tuesdays and Fridays because he finishes early and gets to pick up his daughter from school. The sounds we get from outside are car noises coming from traffic and a happy, upbeat song to match his feelings.

Close up of the envelope for 3 seconds then cuts to the next shot. Next is a medium close up of the person in then office, this helps us see where he is. This shot cuts to the title which is on a blank screen. Another cut is done into a close up of the letter that was in the envelope, it tilts up to see his reaction to what was on it. We then get a close up/point of view shot of the letter, this cuts to another dark screen which has the director and producers name on it. This lasts 4 seconds so we can get a decent understanding of how he's feeling about the letter. Next is a 2 second medium shot of him in his office, we see his reactions by body language. A cut is used into a wide shot of him standing in his office from this shot we can also see out the window. Next is an exterior shot which pans left it first and then tracks back when he walks towards the camera, this shot lasts for 5 seconds before it cuts to an over the shoulder shot/big close up of him putting in his headphones. The cinematographer then arcs round the man to show him putting in  his other headphone, the arc lasts 4 seconds.

We then get to see a close up of the mp3 player which is only a second long. Then we get sound start which comes from the mp3, it is not diegetic or non diegetic this is because the song that's being played is heard by him through his head phones but also as well as heard by the audience.
